Not all Yekaterinburg’s hotels feature impeccable service. And tap water is often poor – it smells like sewage. However, the city’s hotels still have their own, special charm and comfort.
Expensive and elegant
DoubleTree by Hilton. As befits its great name, this is a four-star hotel in the heart of the city. The only negative – rooms are a little stuffy. From $74 for a double room.
Hyatt Regency Ekaterinburg. Pompous “five-star” with a bunch of imposed additional services for your money. There is a fitness centre and spa. The rooms have wonderful views of the river. From $250 for a double room.
Hotel Onegin. A cosy four-star hotel in an office building with panoramic views of the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Some of the rooms are outdated, but the service and breakfast are impeccable. From $80 for a double room.
Reasonable and affordable
Hotel Renome. High-quality four-star hotel in the French style, a 5-minute walk from the pedestrian Ulitsa Veinera. Guests like the hotel’s soft beds and French cafe. From $70 for a double room with breakfast.
Hotel Chekhov. Lovely “antique” three-star hotel in a 19th-century mansion. The hotel has an exhibition dedicated to A.P. Chekhov’s stay in Yekaterinburg. Breakfast, however, is a little poor. From $65 for a double room with breakfast.
Premier Hotel. A pleasant three-star hotel in a quiet area with excellent service. The rooms are spacious. Breakfast is a bit monotonous. From $70 for a double room with breakfast.
Cheap and cheerful
Hotel Loff. A simple “three-star” not in the centre but close to a tram stop. Faceless design, but clean and quiet. From $40 for a double room.
Respect Hall. Stylish and comfortable hotel 10 minutes’ walk from the “Chkalovskaya” metro station. “Megapolis” shopping centre nearby. Guests like the hearty breakfasts. From $30 for a double room.
Hotel Chetyre Sezona. Lovely two-star hotel in the city centre with a hint of lush design. Nearby, there are a lot of restaurants, but a bit noisy in the evenings. From $44 for a double room with breakfast.
Hostel Atasikun. Clean hostel right in the city centre with a good-natured host and curtains around the beds. From $23 for a double room with shared bathroom and $8 for a bed in a dormitory.
Hostel Mrs Hudson. This cosy, homely hostel is a 5-minute walk from Ulitsa Veinera and has excellent Wi-Fi. From $23 for a double room with shared bath, $7 for a bed in a dormitory room, and $9 for a bed in a male or female room.
Hostel Kvartira No. 9. Nice hostel in subdued tones near the “Ploshchad 1905 Goda” metro station. Very central, therefore noisy. From $24 for a double room, from $8 for a bed in an eight-bed room.
