Mini-Hotel Tri Kota. A cosy like home place in 10 minutes on foot from the Kremlin. The interior is modest, but the places clean. From $40 for a double room with breakfast.
Volkhov Hotel. 5 minutes on foot to the Kremlin, four stars, nice modern rooms. The buffet breakfasts are a bit repetitious. From $50 for a double room with breakfast.
Hotel Novgorodskaya. An old-fashioned, but clean hotel located in 7 minutes on foot from the Kremlin. From $40 for a double room with breakfast.
Sadko Hotel. 15 minutes on foot to the centre. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned, but the buffet breakfast is really good. From $50 for a double room with breakfast.
Cheap and acceptable
Intourist Hotel. The heritage of the Soviet times with small rooms and well-trained staff. The walk to the centre takes 15 minutes. From $33 for a double room.
Acron Hotel. Great location in 5 minutes walk from the Kremlin and 15 minutes from the railway station. The rooms are old fashioned but with all the facilities. From $35 for a double room.
For super savers
Roza Vetrov Hotel. A hotel, redesigned from a student dormitory. One bathroom for 2 rooms united into a block. However the walk to the Kremlin takes 10 minutes. From $20 for a double room.
Home Hostel. Hospitable owners and the homelike atmosphere (including a cat!). 15 minutes on foot from the Kremlin. From $5 for a bed in a 6-bed mixed room, from $15 for a double room with shared bathroom.
